Positional Release Technique: Positioning the tight muscles in the position of greatest comfort, shortening the muscle in order to relax them. A gentle and passive technique, It’s a passive pain-free therapy.
Basically- Instead of stretching the muscle more, I take the tension off which relaxes the area and stops the pain without causing additional pain. Once the muscle is relaxed it stays relaxed. It just needed a break. Our bodies are so cool that if we compress a tight muscle for a few seconds it feels great and stays great.
It’s crazy simple….but then again, I’ve been doing it for 25 years.
Positional Release Technique:
Picture a rubber band stretched almost to its limit.
( your lower back muscles being very tight) Feel that strain?
Some therapists would stretch that further..( for a deeper stretch). That doesn’t get the rubberband any looser. And it doesn’t make that muscle relaxed.
I take the tension off the rubberband by gently compressing it together. No more tension! That’s it. Its that simple. It doesn’t hurt at all. It actually feels really good.
So bring on your arthritis! Your knees will be so happy they’ll tell your shoulders.
Lower back pain? You’ll love getting out of the car without making that face.
Sciatica? That’s my specialty.
Kink in your neck? Imagine turning to the side and not having to turn your whole body.
I don’t fix your body. I just position it so it fixes itself. I won’t take away your fibromyalga or arthritis but I will assist in getting your body to loosen up. Believe me, relaxed muscles surrounding an arthritic hip make a big difference. Think about how weird you walk if something hurts. It pulls your whole body out of wack. Massaging is nice but it in no way compares to how positional release will balance your body.
The treatment:
Bring your achy clothed body and lie face down on the table. I check to see if your sacrum is balanced. . Anatomy lesson: Put the palm of your hand in that dent above and between your glutes. Feel that bone. Sacrum. The sacrum is the fulcrum of your body. When this is out of place by just a little it causes issues. So this gets balanced first. Very gently. I never cause pain. In the case of Sciatica, the sacrum is so out of place it pushes on that Sciatic nerve right in the center of your glute and shoots pain down your leg. Not fun. I’ve worked on hundreds of sciatic issues and every one of them got off the table feeling great but with apprehension. Its hard to believe you feel better so quickly. To insure you are balanced… I make you move all around, do squats, bring your knees up. I’m testing it. When you feel great then were done.
If you don’t feel better, then I’m not doing my job and I won’t charge you.
So you have nothing to lose. Bring that achy breaky body over to me or I’ll come to you. I’m here for you. The sooner you call, the sooner you move better.
